Colombia - Contecar chooses “best quality tractors”

Terminal de Contenedores de Cartagena S.A. (Contecar) is one of the largest terminal operators in Latin America, with two major terminals in Cartagena, Colombia.

Contecar considered several options for a major fleet expansion. After meetings with Terberg and distributor Global Port Equipment they selected Terberg over their former terminal tractor supplier.

Maintenance coordinator Roger Alberto Torres Pareja commented “We were looking for the best quality. And a comfortable and safe work environment for our operators - that’s the most important aspect. Because we really want to reduce diesel consumption and carbon emissions we specified a special air conditioning system with its own battery, because the engine switches off after idling for 20 seconds. Terberg could also interface to our telemetry unit. The units will be operating 24/7/365, so reliability and efficiency are key. And the tractors are finished in our custom colour.”
